By Samyak Lunawat
On November 8, 2014, the Make a Difference club participated in the Kids for Kids Market Day which has been running for the past five years. This year, Market Day was held in Cyberport, Pok Fu Lam. Some products that were sold this year include; henna, cupcakes, cookies, face-painting, stick-on tattoos, and lemonade. It was the very first time that Make a Difference sold lemonade and stick-on tattoos in Market Day. Lemonade sales were a huge success, selling out after only three hours. The brand new product, stick-on tattoos were successful especially after the prices were reduced. Furthermore, 60% of the total Market Day sales were from the henna sales. Although the weather was quite challenging, the Make a Difference club was successful earning a profit of $1,500. Pop-Can Race for SCIENCE!
By Raziq Mohammed
For Entertainment news, in science class SNC1Da, Ms. de Castro held the Pop-can races for the start of a new unit in science, Physics. The races were for the test of the electrons in materials. With balloons, we rubbed it with other materials and test the materials that are in the electrostatic series whether they gain more or less electrons to push the cans to the finish line.
As the first round was a slow one, the finals was really a ‘close’ one. The ‘kanendo’ team won after using the ground and DSC sweaters to finally get their can over to the finish line. Your reporter, Raziq.
