So, what new has Apple brought this time for its eagerly awaiting fans? The Apple Watch, an “incredibly, precise timepiece”.

Apple Watch’s features not only include checking time. Being a smart-watch, this watch lets you do so much more. From calling people to texting them, and from sending people heartbeats to sketches & drawings, the Apple Watch has it all! These are a list of features and actions the Watch includes:

  • Sketch

  • Send people your own heartbeat

  • Messages, calls, mails

  • Health & Fitness recorder

Furthermore, the Apple Watch even comes in different models- around 30 of them, depending on the wearer’s personality.

Delia Group of Schools’ App & Slogan Competition

By Akshay Agarwal

During the 50th anniversary of Delia, Delia held exciting competitions in the month of December, 2014. In those competitions many students took part and did their best. One of the competitions were for teams from all Delia schools: to create new, engaging, creative, original and different apps.

Team JSMD, with Min Jae Cho, Jong Hyun Cho, Sookhyun Kwon, and Jung In Lee,  from our school won 2nd runner up. The team had great tech skills, originality, creativity, and teamwork. For instance, Sookhyun Kwon’s main part was to develop the app, whereas Min Jae Cho, Jong Hyun Cho, Jungin Lee an important role in making the apps creative, the biggest part of the app. Being knowledgeable and having all the skills required, they decided to make this app because they wanted to use their skills in a productive way.

The main purpose of their app was to help find restaurants from different cultures. Moreover, you can search in many ways from any price and any site. The app, “Foodle” (a combination of “food” and Google search engine), is pretty easy to use, with a creative interface and very few buttons to locate.

Kenta Iwasaki and Yoohee Jeung showed they were no less, by winning individual merit awards. Kenta’s reasons to be a part of this competition were respectful, as he was really interested in programming and there were very few competitions at such level and for such issues. Kenta’s app creation “Plex” (the word easy’) was a music-related app, really useful as people coulsearch for many different music from all over the world from most famous to even local third-party music. All this, so people can get to know all the forms of music and create interest for them. While the greater purpose was that it also allowed not so famous songs to be in there so they can also be heard and gain recognition. Nevertheless, Yoohee’s app was also very well-developed, allowing it to win an award. It was to introduce tea culture in Hong Kong. This app named “Tea in HK” gives us direct insights of the app. Coupled with a section about history of Yin Cha aka “different kinds of tea” ,along with where they are available to buy in Hong Kong. In a nutshell the reason these people get known for their apps was because they were well designed and thought out thoroughly. Last but not least, Mr. Gaston also received an award for Best Slogan in Delia’s 50th Anniversary competition. His slogan encompasses the goals that the Delia Group of Schools strives for everyday - to “foster multiculturalism in Hong Kong”.
